John Woodrooffe Research Scientist Emeritus University of Michigan and Principal of Woodrooffe Dynamics has more than 35 years of experience in vehicle-related research and innovation specializing in the disciplines of commercial vehicle safety, productivity, and performance-based standards. His research and consulting activities extend to the evaluation of vehicle and fleet safety, crash avoidance systems, freight productivity, and transportation efficiency. He is an authority in fuel efficiency and road transport decarbonisation research. His work informs business leaders and policymakers in matters of transportation safety, economics and the environment across the developed world.
He is a member of the National Academy of Sciences Committee on Fuel Economy of Medium- and Heavy-Duty Vehicles and a Distinguished Visiting Researcher at Cambridge University in the UK where he is participating in several international research programs with Cambridge University and the OECD in Paris.
